(If you're wondering who I am or why I friended/defriended you, please read this post for more information. Thanks!)
Hmmm... where to start... At the time of this writing, I'm currently 2829sliding downhill towards 303031323334 35 years old and I live in Philadelphia's Main Line. I have worked in the software industry for over 10 years now. Past jobs have had me working at places like TurnTide and Symantec. I currently work as a Software Engineer for an advertising company. Yes, I am on LinkedIn:
My main interests in life these days outside of all things computer is furry, or anthropomorphic animals, to be more specific.
As far as furry conventions go, I join Anthrocon's Board of Directors in 2003. My main responsibilities are running Convention Operations, or Con Ops for short. It's part customer service and part logistics and planning. I have regular dreams about working at the con, which is rather scary. As of 2009, I am also responsible for running the website and forums, and wrote the current pre-registration/onsite registration system.
For the curious, here is a list of furry (and other) conventions I've attended:
Years with links are where I have photos online. Italicized years are where I worked staff.
So that's 49 conventions in all (33 furry, 16 non-furry). And that isn't even counting some of the smaller gatherings such as KainCon, Wuffmeet, and Dorsai Thing...
In March of 2008, I was inducted into the Dorsai Irregulars, a volunteer organization which performs security-related services for science fiction and furry conventions, including Anthrocon.
In 1998, I graduated from Allentown Business School (since renamed to Lehigh Valley College) with an Associate's Degree in Network Technology.
I have Macs with OS/X on the desktop, and Ubuntu Linux on the webserver.
My birthday is on Halloween. I have been told repeatedly that this explains a lot.
Some people ("Otaku") like Japan a lot. I am not one of them. I do however, like Denmark a lot. Why Denmark? Well, they were the first country in the world to legalize gay marriage--back in 1989. And in 1969, Denmark became the first country to legalize pornography. So if you are gay or like porn (or like gay porn), you should thank a Dane. :-) I also adore Dolph the Fascist Hippo, a satirical character on Danish television.
Not much else for me to say here, other than that if you want to learn more about me, a good starting place would be my website.
