Yesterday was pretty crazy. The first thing that blew my mind was discovering that one of the regulars from the Anthrocon forums not only lives half a mile away from me, but also rides the same train into Center City every day. We pretty much saw each other on the train on a near daily basis without knowing it! Maybe I should start wearing my Anthrocon t-shrits around town more.

The second thing was the vandalism I saw of a Cottonelle ad at Market East Station:

Here's a closeup:

So yeah, it's been an interesting week I think.

I wrote a song about a graffito a couple of years ago. A sign in front of a tavern's parking spot read, "CUSTOMER PARKING ONLY", and then in smaller letters, "ALL OTHERS TOWED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE". Somebody had taken a permanent marker and scratched out the word "OTHERS", substituting "MERCY F***S" instead (for whatever incomprehensible reason). The F-word had subsequently been whitewashed, so all that was left was "ALL MERCY TOWED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE". Thus was "Towing Mercy" born.

And as of last night, the sign had been removed. :-(

I saw some of that advertising on the Broad Street/Orange Line. I couldn't help but think how much it costs to fill a subway car with all that advertising. O_o

But that vandalism above is funny. XD

someone you saw most everyday - a regular. How neat. Small world syndrome.
