Proof that Something Awful Goons have no dignity

A short while ago, greenreaper started up the most excellent WikiFur Central site, which is a Wiki for furries. For those who don't know, the concept behind a Wiki is that any user can edit any page. This is a really neat feature because any random passer by can update pages with new information or even add entirely new pages. (I recommend checking out Wikipedia, which is the world's largest Wiki)

And, in a very public display that they have no respect for what other people have to say, at least a dozen Something Awful goons stormed onto the site over the last few days and began to vandalize pages right and left. *sigh*

I just don't get it. If the goons want to congregate on their boards and talk trash about us, hey that's fine. It's their boards, and they can mock whoever they want to on them. But going over to someone else's website and vandalizing pages is just a rotten thing to do. I think it's the ultimate form of hypocrisy, because the message it sends is that the Goons are allowed to have their own website and forums, but those other people aren't good enough to have the same, and that it's okay for the Goons to just show up and trash somebody else's resources.

Oh well. I guess that 40-year-old-virgins-living-in-their-parents-basements are always going to be 40-year-old-virgins-living-in-their-parents-basements, and there isn't much that we can do about it. But, if people are interested in helping out with the Wiki, feel free to stop by and join in. One page I recommend viewing is the Recent Changes page, to see what has been changed recently. If you spot an article that has been vandalized, it's pretty easy to load up the history of the page and revert to a previous good version of the page. And then blacklist the IP if you have privileges to do that.
